If you are like most people, losing weight and getting fit are your new year’s resolutions. Now is the time to make a difference for 2010.

Make 2010 your year to triumph, with these important tips:
Find something you LOVE to do. If you don’t wake up pumped about going, you aren’t likely to stick with it. Moving your body to the current hits will keep you feeling young, which may be why dance-fitness is so popular. Find the ‘fun’ factor and it will drive you to succeed.
Find an all-in-one workout that delivers everything your body needs…cardio, strength and stretch. Adding strength training to a cardio workout will reduce your risk of injury and help improve your metabolic rate so that you burn extra calories all day long. Cardio is essential for a healthy heart. And, you need to stretch after working your muscles to elongate them and improve flexibility.
Join a class. Many find fitness classes more motivating than working out alone. Don’t underestimate the power of friendship in fitness!
Keep your goals manageable. Commit to a minimum frequency of say, three times a week. Then target for more. But don’t beat yourself up…some activity is better than none.
Eat right. Try eating smaller portions, more frequently. If you aren’t hungry don’t eat. If you are full, stop. Healthy foods should dominate your intake…treat yourself in small doses.
Put a big smile on your face and think positive thoughts. Visualize success and it will be yours in 2010.
