Bronte Village Mall Raises Concerns with Residents

The proposed Bronte Village Mall revitalization plans have some residents quite concerned. The proposed 21 storey building will increase traffic in the area.

The mall is asking the council to alter the zoning in the Lakeshore/Bronte area to permit the land to be developed into a mixed use property (i.e. retail, office and residential).

The development would include 451 residential units with 14,313 sq. metres of commercial space. It would include 2, 3 and 4 storey buildings, including a grocery store along with a 21-storey tower.

Concerns range from parking issues, bird migration issues, sunlight concerns, lack of public space and traffic impacts.

Below is graphic of the proposed development (taken from page 19 of the Urban Design Brief) .
