As everyone knows Family Day is Monday, February 15, 2010. Children are out of school and parents are often trying to determine what to do with their kids. Oakville is offering lots of free activities to enjoy.

It has been a tradition for 18 years offering young and old a place to hang out, go on rides, listen to bands under the stars and look at local artists, organizations and crafts. Well it was that time again when Santa came to Oakville. It was the 61st annual Oakville Santa Claus Parade. The rock n’ roll themed parade drew many.

Ho Ho Ho……

The 61st Oakville Santa Claus parade will take place on Saturday, November 21 at 9:00 a.m.
The parade will begin at Lakeshore Road and Reynolds Street, go west on Lakeshore to Kerr Street, north on Kerr and end at Kerr and Steward streets.
The parade includes schools, floats, bands, costumed entertainers representing local businesses, service clubs and community groups.
This year’s theme is A Rock ‘n’ Roll Christmas.
Volunteering
The parade could not run without the support of volunteers.
Information about volunteer opportunities can be found at ww.oakvillesantaclausparade.ca. High school students will be eligible to receive volunteer hours for their participation.
A volunteer meeting is also taking place on Nov. 12 at Sir John Colborne Seniors Recreation Cetnre, 1565 Old Lakeshore Rd at 6:30.
