An HIV/AIDS awareness candlelight ceremony is being held on Wednesday, December 1 at St. Luke’s Anglican Church at 1382 Ontario Street in Burlington. The ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. and is organized by AIDS Action Halton.
AIDS Action Halton is a community network of many agencies. The event marks the 21st anniversary of World AIDS Day and the 21010 theme of Universal Access and Human Rights.
AIDS Action Halton and the AIDS Network plan to provide education and awareness within Halton at the event. Light of Rights events are happening across the world to mark December 1st in honour to those who have died because of AIDS.
The organizes hope that people will send in family and friend names of those who have died because of HIV/AIDS so that their names can be added to the ceremony.
