Surplus portions of land at White Oaks Secondary School (WOSS) may be sold. the Halton District School Board will decide during a meeting on November 4th, 2009.
The 2 portions around the north campus, including 7.3 acres north of the site and 2.71 acre portion east of the site are the ones affected.
These sites are currently used for sport fields and a tree lined area that separates the school from townhouses.
The sale of this land, along with 14 acres at the former General Brock High School site in Burlington and 2.56 acres at McKenzie Smith Bennett in Acton could bring in $17 million.
This money would help to fund a portion of several capital projects the school board is undertaking including building new high schools and renovations.
