With the Official Plan now approved, the Halton region is looking at making serious changes in the way in which development is approved and what must be in place before such approval is obtained.
Human services such as hospitals, transportation, schools, culture, recreation, safety and social services may be required as part of a plan before a subdivision is approved in the future.
The process to date has been that services such as water, sewage and roads were in place before homes were built. With the rapid growth of our community and the need to ensure the region is livable for those new communities, it has long been the desire by many to have human services part of the overall plan. This may now be a requirement moving forward.
